Well the 12 million+ registered Minecraft users (go to minecraft dot net if you have a hard time believing and see yourself) would beg to disagree with you regarding the INTENTIONAL design of the game. Read a little, why don't you. While you're doing that, actually try the damn game.

The whole idea is everything is made out of blocks and it's a unique way of expressing the concept of building the constructions out of the materials you mine, chop down, etc. It reminds me of legos, and as a result this design is what catches the interest in many.

Now imagine if these designs were complex in their look - it would just be another game without its unique aspect. Minecraft has it down to a science, and the amount of users as well as the money flowing in does more than enough to show this.

God, i wish Notch would make better graphics for Minecraft!
